Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania and is now a Romanian/German actress. Her best-known films include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The actress was born as the only son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. At the age of 16, Alexandra played the leading character in various television dramas. After her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, on Downfall. This film was nominated for an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial great success. The Reader is another Oscar nominated film that features this stunning actress. Over the years Alexandra was involved in numerous noteworthy national and international projects. One of these is the British biographical film Control, Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical mini-series Napoleon. In addition, she is an official jury member for two festivals: the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
