Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in film and TV is best known for films like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra Maria Lara the only son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16 she portrayed the lead character in various TV dramas. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra worked on several important international and national projects throughout her career. These projects comprise British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many others. Her other roles include being a jury member at each of the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
